Fountains 10k 2015 (licence number 2015-12398)

Well, another successful Fountains 10k – with a fantastic Fun Run to boot! I think we’ll do it again next year!

The weather was kind to us despite a shower or two around 11:05…

It was brilliant to watch Toby Osman, a former Fountains C of E pupil take first place, and beat the course record with a fleet-footed 34:49. Well done Toby! Not to be outdone, Sharon Barlow smashed the ladies record by an even greater margin and stormed home in an amazing 38:36. Well done guys!

Ripon Runners took the male and female team prizes, with Harrogate Harriers second in both categories. The time difference was small due to fantastic running by both clubs; great to see that rivalry flourishing!

A big thank you to all of you for turning up to our little race – your support means a huge amount to the children of Fountains C of E Primary school – your support over the years has enriched their time at school.

We’re so grateful to SubSports for very generously giving every finisher an item of clothing from their range and for the category prizes, and to Steve Bradbury of the Harrogate Injury Clinic for the team prizes. We couldn’t offer these prizes without them.

A warm welcome and a great atmosphere are guaranteed, so why not get involved and join in the fun? Both men and women aged 15 and over are welcome to take part, from novice 10km runners to seasoned athletes, and children and runners looking for a less gruelling event will enjoy the 2.25km Fun Run.

This mixed terrain route may not be the fastest or flattest but with an impressive 97%* of runners saying that they would do it again, we are sure you will enjoy it too.

The 10km race is centered around the village of Grantley, near Ripon, and is run over a one-lap course on public roads and across scenic moorland within Nidderdale, an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’.
